Marius Schneider

Biography

Marius Schneider has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1997. He is also registered as a Global Legal Adviser in Mauritius.

He has more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property law in Europe and Africa.

He has participated in different working groups of the European Intellectual Property Attorney and chaired the European Community Trademark Association (ECTA) Anti-Counterfeiting Committee of which he remains an active member. He is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars (notably at the Academy of European Law, the Catholic Institute of High Business Studies, the World Customs Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Academy of European Law).

He is co-editor of the book ‘Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights through Border Measures’ published by Oxford University Press (second edition 2012), the chapter on fighting Intellectual Property Rights in the Free Cross Border Enforcement of Intellectual Property Right ‘by Professor Paul Torremans. He has published numerous articles (listed below) on intellectual property as well as an article on ‘Mauritius platform for investment in Africa’. Marius is the editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice edited by Oxford University Press.

He holds a degree in law from the Catholic University of Louvain, has an LLM in European Law from University College London and a Master´s degree in Master Intellectuele Rechten from the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel.
